Who we are

Our passionate and creative-minded little team hatched the idea to launch a general knowledge children’s magazine that would cover a wide range of topics and be age appropriately entertaining and fun in the summer of  2011. After the plan was in place, we soon got down to business and now there is a select team of professionals (including educators, journalists, illustrators, and graphic designers) making sure that a quality publication is produced, appealing in presentation and excelling in valuable content.

What is Globeland good for?

Talent, understanding, and erudition in children is not down purely to genes – a close and loving relationship with the parent all through childhood is essential. Psychologists say the best way to learn is through experience, and the that a range of diverse stimuli enrich the brain – children need colours to see, textures to touch, and experiences to share to make sense of the world around them.

Parents and educators alike wish to convey values and knowledge that matter to the children under their care, something that has become an even more pressing issue in this media-controlled day and age. The Globeland team is also hard at work to earn a part in this education process and become yet another bright and spirited addition to the children’s expanding world.

Our Goals

Our primary objective is to arouse and keep up motivation in children to learn, building on the know-how of skilled and experienced professionals in the field. We wish to inspire children to think for themselves, to foster their creativity, to increase their knowledge of the world. We want every child to experience the Eureka moment of an insight gained on one’s own or that of the feeling of pride when he or she recognises that they already know something they hear in class – “I have read about this, you know”. The look, contents, and focus of our magazine had been designed with these aims in mind.

Globeland is published ten times a year on 48 pages. The July and November issues are sixteen pages thicker, coming up to 64 pages each.

Around the UK, Adventures Abroad, Walks in Prehistory, In the Zoo, Science & Tech, In the Gallery, The World We Live In – just some of the sections of the magazine, all boasting many unique, colour graphic and photo illustrations.

-         The header indicates the section the reader is in.

-         The texts are broken up into convenient and easy-to-read chunks and the most important and useful facts are printed bold.

-         Some of the topics covered have a glossary to help understanding and every image has an explanatory caption.

Globeland will, among its other features, include crossword puzzles, riddles, and brain-teasers to help develop logical thinking and creativity in children, as well as book-, film-, and events reviews, Arts & Crafts, and even a Recipe section.

Leafing through the magazine will aid comprehension, build vocabulary, boost speech development, improve observation skills, reinforce motivation for reading, and foster creativity and logic for its young readers.

We plan to publish another publication, to the age group between 4-7. We plan to publish special issues, teaching aids, occupational- and puzzle booklets, as well as organizing quiz games for children, which could be ordered for school events, even for birthday parties.

Our present campaign has a dual purpose. Since it is an informative magazine and our goal is to make teaching entertaining, therefore we would like to create a website. On the one hand we would like to combine a strategy game with a quiz game, where the children can almost unnoticeably expand their knowledge while playing; on the other hand we will advertise academic competitions exclusively related to the articles of the magazine. Our other goal is that in addition to online ordering Globeland would be available commercially too, so that it would be widely known and loved.

Our goal is the promotion of reading and the realization of the Learn and Play! concept. With all our means available, we will work to make children learn to love reading even more, and that they wouldn’t feel like learning is compulsory, but a journey, on which by walking through they will learn about and the world around them that will open up before them.

Please, in case you agree with our principles and objectives support our work, and let us work together for our children’s future
